Androtas Gel (testosterone) offers men a convenient way to supplement the body with the hormone testosterone. The gel should only be used when testosterone levels are verified to be low; it should not be used in boys who have not yet reached sexual maturity or in girls or women of any age.

The Importance of Testosterone

As most men probably know already, testosterone plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of male characteristics. While some are fairly obvious, other symptoms are often written off as natural variation or natural aging. Symptoms of low testosterone include:

The above all have their pros and cons; tablets are slow, subtle and associated with liver damage, patches can produce skin irritation and fall off when wet, and many men have an aversion to injections.

Androtas Gel is easy to apply, powerful and fast-acting, but its major drawback is risk of contaminating others. Men using Androtas Gel should take care to wash hands after each use and avoid letting other individuals and pets contact treated areas. Treated areas should be thoroughly washed and dried before coming into skin-to-skin contact with others. Be especially cautious with regard to children and pregnant women.

Using Androtas Gel

Androtas Gel comes in sachets or a large bottle which expels measured doses of the gel. The exact dosage depends on how low testosterone levels are, which is best determined by a doctor. The majority of patients take between 50 mg to 100 mg per day, but there are exceptions.

The gel is easy to apply:

• Rub the gel into the shoulders, upper arms, stomach, or inner thighs.
• Do not rub the gel in anywhere else, including the chest and groin; painful skin irritation may result.
• Wait 10 or 15 minutes for the gel to dry before covering with clothing.
• Wash hands and all surfaces which the gel came into contact with when finished.
• Dispose of empty sachets and cleaning materials carefully to prevent accidental contact by others.
• Avoid getting treated areas wet for 2 to 5 hours after administration.

Many men see some improvement within just days of starting treatment, but it may take several months of treatment for full benefit. Provided no adverse effects develop, treatment may continue indefinitely.

Precautions

All men supplementing testosterone with Androtas Gel or any other product should attend regular doctor checkups. Doctors will monitor testosterone levels as well as monitor for developing side effects.

Use of Androtas Gel, or any testosterone replacement, may worsen benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). It may also put men at greater risk of developing prostate cancer; those who have a family history of prostate cancer or who are otherwise at increased risk of developing it may want to avoid this product.

Androtas Gel, again like any testosterone replacement, may alter insulin sensitivity (usually by decreasing blood glucose). It also may cause fluid and salt retention, which is a concern for patients with cardiac, renal or hepatic issues; speak with a doctor before use.

Children and women, particularly pregnant women, should avoid this product. Contact with even trace amounts can lead to irritating to dangerous side effects, such as development of facial hair to early puberty. While women do sometimes supplement testosterone to treat certain conditions, this should be done only with doctor involvement and most likely at considerably lower doses than found in Androtas Gel.
