Medicines have benefits and some have risks. Always read the label and use only as directed. If symptoms persist or you have side effects see your health professional. Brands and generics both contain the same active ingredient(s) and are medically equivalent. Some brands are marketed under different names by the same manufacturer depending on the country of origin. Images are provided as a reference only, the received medicine may vary in packaging, color, pill shape, etc, from one batch to the next. For an item marked "generic" any quality brand may be sent, however you will always receive the active ingredients ordered in the strength(s) ordered.
Kliofem is a daily combination of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) that is taken daily without fail. Kliofem is prescribed to postmenopausal women who have been without menstruation for at least a year. The pills include two hormones: Norethisterone acetate 1 mg (a progestagen comparable to the body's natural hormone progesterone) and estradiol 2 mg (an estrogen produced in the ovaries).
The quantity of estrogen generated by a woman's body decreases throughout menopause and can result in symptoms including a heated face, nack, and chest (also known as 'hot flushes'). Kliofem relieves these symptoms after menopause. Kliofem will only be recommended if symptoms are severely interfering with the patient's everyday activities.
Some women may be prescribed kliofem to treat osteoporosis which usually develops after menopause.
Take this medication precisely as directed by a doctor. If the patient is unsure, they should see a doctor or pharmacist. Take one pill once daily with a glass of water.
Use one pill every day without fail. Move on to the next pack after one is through with all 28 tablets in a calendar pack. If a patient thinks this dose is too powerful or not strong enough, they should talk to their doctor. The doctor will try to give the smallest dosage possible to manage the patient's symptoms in the shortest duration.
Only the typical dosages of this medication are included in the following information. If a patient's dose differs, they should not alter it unless a doctor instructs them to.
The drug's strength determines the quantity of medicine consumed. In addition, the number of dosages taken each day, the duration between doses, and the length of time a patient takes the drug are all determined by the medical issue for which the medicine is being used.

Medicines and their potential side effects can have a variety of impacts on different persons. These are known adverse effects linked with this medication. A side-effect is mentioned here in no way indicates that all women who take this drug will experience it.
The preceding list of adverse effects may not contain all the ones documented by the drug's manufacturer. Please read the instructions given with the drug or see a doctor or pharmacist for further information.
Concomitant use of drugs known to stimulate drug-metabolizing enzymes, especially cytochrome enzymes, like anticonvulsants (e.g., carbamazepine, phenobarbital, and phenytoin) and anti-infectives, may enhance the metabolism of progestagens and estrogens (e.g., efavirenz, nevirapine, rifampicin, rifabutin).
Despite their reputation as powerful inhibitors, nelfinavir, telaprevir, and ritonavir have inducing characteristics when combined with steroid hormones.
In clinical practice, increased progestagen and estrogen metabolism might reduce impact and alterations in the uterine bleeding profile. Drugs that limit the action of hepatic microsomal metabolizing enzymes, such as ketoconazole, may cause Kliofem's active components to circulate at higher levels.
Due to reduced cyclosporine metabolism in the liver, concomitant use of Kliofem and cyclosporine may result in elevated blood levels of transaminases, cyclosporine, and creatinine.
Keep out of children's reach. Do not store out-of-date or medicines that are no longer needed. Keep the patches in a closed container at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and direct light.
