Ketoprofen
The brand name is Orudis, and the generic name is Ketoprofen. This medication belongs to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs of propionic acids with analgesic and antipyretic effects. It inhibits the body's production of prostaglandin (a combination of biologically active phosphatide compounds with varying hormone-like effects).

Each capsule contains 25, 50, or 75 mg of Ketoprofen (active ingredient) for oral administration. Its inactive ingredients are titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, FD&C Blue 1, D&C Yellow 10, FD&C Yellow 6, and gelatin.

Prostaglandin production is reduced when NSAIDs block the Cox enzymes. Consequently, pain and swelling are reduced.

- Instant-release (50 mg 4 times a day or 75 mg three times a day)
- Prolonged-release: 200 mg once per day

Non-prescription Ketoprofen takes the form of a tablet to take by mouth accompanied with a glassful of water or any other liquid every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Ketoprofen interactions
A study was conducted using Ketoprofen doses of 200 mg/day with the following drug interactions. Doses exceeding 50 mg as a single dose or daily intake of 200 mg of Ketoprofen showed the possibility of increased interaction with the below drugs.
ACE-inhibitors: NSAIDs like Ketoprofen may reduce the antihypertensive effect of ACE-inhibitors when taken concomitantly alongside each other.
Antacids: Absorption of Ketoprofen does not interfere with magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide when administered concomitantly.
Aspirin: Simultaneous administration of aspirin reduced Ketoprofen protein binding. Also, Ketoprofen plasma clearance increased from 0.07 L/kg/h where no aspirin was used to 0.11 L/kg/h where aspirin was involved.
Diuretic: Natriuretic effect of thiazides and furosemide in patients was reduced when taken alongside NSAIDs.
Digoxin: In a study of patients with congestive heart failure, Ketoprofen did not change the serum levels of digoxin, where digoxin and Ketoprofen were administered concomitantly.
Storage
Ketoprofen tablets should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and light. Capsules must be stored between 20-25 degrees C or 68-77. The patient should keep all medication away from children, pets and must not be stored in damp areas like the bathroom.
