Tenormin (atenolol) is a beta blocker used to treat a number of heart, circulation, and blood pressure problems. Less commonly it may be used to treat symptoms of anxiety and alcohol withdrawal.
Note for migraine patients: beta blockers are often used to reduce the frequency and severity of migraines. However, not all beta blockers are the same; the active ingredient in this product, atenolol, is not very effective at treating migraines because it does not cross the blood-brain barrier. Beta blockers such as propranolol or metoprolol are much more suitable.
Understanding Tenormin
Tenormin, like all beta blockers, inhibits the physical effects of the stress hormones epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine (noradrenaline). This action slows heart rate and relaxes blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure, stabilizes heartbeat rate in some conditions, and ultimately reduces the heart's workload. In this application Tenormin is often used to treat:
In treating mental conditions like anxiety, Tenormin predominantly reduces physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, tremors, trembling voice, excessive sweating and so forth. Because it does little to resolve mental anxiety---racing or obsessive thoughts, worry, and so forth---it is not an ideal long-term treatment on its own, though it may be quite helpful if taken in advance of anticipated triggers, such as a public speaking event or flying.
In most cases treatment with Tenormin starts with 50 mg per day, which may be increased up to 200 mg per day if needed, though it's relatively unusual for patients to need more than 100 mg per day. Dosage will need to be adjusted according to individual factors such as age, other medical conditions, and other medications being taken.
In all cases tablets are typically taken once per day, and may be taken with or without food according to personal preference.
In many of the conditions Tenormin treats other medications will also be taken to treat the same condition, such as diuretics to treat high blood pressure. Any medication that influences heart rate, circulation, or blood pressure has the potential to cause complications if taken with Tenormin (or any beta blocker); it is very important to ensure the doctor prescribing Tenormin is aware of all other medications being taken, and is notified of any changes to the medication regimen.
Precautions & Side Effects
Most patients use Tenormin without any issues; unfortunately some medical conditions do put patients at increased risk of complications from this medication. Dosage will likely need to be adjusted and regular doctor checkups needed to monitor for developing complications if there is any history of:
In otherwise healthy patients side effects are unusual and, if experienced at all, typically mild. Most commonly reported are:
The above side effects are not cause for concern unless severe. Many are the result the newly-lowered blood pressure and will stop occurring as the body adjusts to treatment.
Never stop taking this or any other beta blocker abruptly. If discontinuing treatment, consult a doctor about gradually reducing dosage. Abrupt discontinuation can produce serious---even potentially fatal---complications.
Tenovate ointment is a topical steroid that contains Clobetasol propionate. It is applied to the skin to reduce inflammation and swelling. It is effective against redness and itching caused by certain skin conditions.
Tenovate ointment belongs to the family of medications called steroids. Patients suffering from red bumpy and scaly patches (Psoriasis), severe itchiness, and purple patches with itching and swelling can use the cream for effective relief.
The cream is not recommended for skin conditions other than those for which it has been prescribed. Misuse of the drug for skin conditions could worsen them. Overuse or overapplication of this product is not recommended either.
On average, relief is felt within two weeks. Patients should consult their doctor before discontinuing it. Any serious side effects should be reported immediately to your doctor.
Allergies or irritation lead to an inflammation of the skin, which triggers the release of several chemicals. As a result, blood vessels widen, causing itchy, burning, and red skin.
Tenovate ointment inhibits the release of these chemicals inside the skin cells, thus reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Tenovate can help to treat dermatological problems from eczema to psoriasis, dermatitis, and other skin conditions characterized by inflammation.
Patients must follow all the instructions given by their doctor on dosage and method of application.
Tenovate is strictly for external use. One should only use the cream on their face, underarms, and groin per the doctor's direction.
Doctors may suggest applying this medicine under an airtight dressing to the elbows and knees, depending on the patient's severity of your psoriasis.
Before using the topical cream, hand washing is highly recommended. Also, it is important to clean and dry the affected area.
Application is usually two times daily or as directed by the physician. Patients should gently rub in a thin film of medication to the affected area. Unless directed by a doctor, they should avoid bandaging, covering, or wrapping the area.
For patients who use this medication to treat their hands, washing hands is necessary after applying it. Applying this medication close to the eyes may cause glaucoma if it gets into the eyes. It is also important to avoid getting this medication into the mouth or nose.
The medication must be used for the condition for which it has been prescribed. It should not be used for more than two weeks in a row or more than 50 grams per week without a doctor's direction.
Once a good level of control has been achieved, the highly active skin ointment can be discontinued. When no progress is seen within two weeks, the diagnosis should be reassessed.
Tenovate ointment treats allergic skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis with inflammation and itching.
The action of the medicine reduces inflammation in the skin by decreasing body chemicals.
It reduces irritation effects caused by skin rashes. It can help to improve the user's skin appearance and enhance their self-confidence.
Patients should cautiously apply the prescribed amount of cream or ointment.
Tenovate Side Effects
Skin redness: Avoid bathing in hot water because it can worsen skin irritation. The affected area can be soothed and hydrated with a moisturizer regularly.
Skin dryness: Use moisturizer and a humidifier to soothe dry skin. It may be helpful to avoid alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco for dry mouth and skin.
In rare cases, long-term use of steroid medications or covering large areas of the body with them can impair the skin's response to physical stress.
Patients should contact their doctor if they become ill or injured while taking this medication.
Pregnant women should only use this medication after consulting with a doctor.
Breastfeeding mothers should seek a doctor's approval before using Tenovate ointment as well. There is a possibility of this drug passing into breast milk.
There can be drug interactions that affect how the medication works or make patients more susceptible to side effects.
During diagnosis, patients must provide their doctors with a list of all of the medications they take, including prescriptions and nonprescription, along with herbal products. A doctor's approval is required before starting, stopping, or changing the dosage of any medicine.
Medications that lower the immune system like cyclosporine and corticosteroids such as prednisone may interact with this medication.
Keeping it at room temperature and avoiding direct sunlight and moisture will help preserve its freshness. Store it away from children. If expired, the product should be thrown away. Tenovate ointment should not be used beyond the expiration date.
Tenovate ointment and other dermatological medication are available at Kiwi Drug. Patients are guaranteed quality and safe medication at affordable prices with packaging, shipping, and delivery anywhere in the world.
The combination medicine Tenovate-M is used to treat various types of skin infections. It kills Infection-causing microorganisms and minimizes inflammation symptoms.
Tenovate-M Cream treats and controls fungi such as:
It also helps to controls
Tenovate-M Cream must only be applied externally, according to the physician's advice. The medicine should be applied thinly to affected areas. Before using the cream, one should clean and dry their hands to apply the medication.
Patients need to flush it with water if it gets into the eyes, mouth, nose, or vagina. Patients should continue using this medicine after the symptoms improve for several days to weeks. If the medicine is to be effective, it must be completed. If patients feel their condition is not improving or getting worse, they should speak to the doctor.
There aren't likely to be overdoses of Tenovate M Cream 15gm because it's intended to be applied externally. This medication may increase the risk of steroid toxicity if used excessively for a long time. Patients must use it per their doctor's guidelines.
If the symptoms of jock itch and other fungal infections persist, patients should discuss alternative treatments with their doctors.
Patients should apply a thin layer of Tenovate-M Cream to the affected area and the surrounding skin. It is not recommended to contact the eyes, nose, or mouth with Tenovate-M Cream 15 gm. If Tenovate-M Cream accidentally comes into contact with these areas, one should rinse them thoroughly with water.
There are two medicines in this formulation: Clobetasol and Miconazole. The steroid medicine Clobetasol is used for treating skin inflammations. This substance interferes with the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause swollen, red and itchy skin. Miconazole is an antifungal that prevents fungi from forming protective covers on themselves.
Some patients experience dryness, redness, itching, redness, and burning sensations at the application site. These tend to be self-healing. There are very few severe side effects. A doctor should be consulted if any allergic reaction occurs: rashes, swelling, and shortness of breath.
If patients take or have recently taken any other medicines for the same condition or another condition, they should inform their doctor before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding and pregnant women should consult a physician before taking this medicine. Patients must not use this medicine if they are allergic to it. They should not use it to treat acne as it may worsen. Special acne medication is available.
Unless otherwise advised by the doctor, patients should not apply bandages to treated areas. Tenovate-M Cream should not be used longer than five days for children.
One should not treat broken skin or cuts should with Tenovate-M Cream 15 gm. Patients shouldn't swallow Tenovate-M Cream. A poison control center or doctor should be contacted immediately if an accident has been caused by accidentally swallowing this medicine.
The cream can catch fire and burn quickly, so no smoking or going near naked flames after using it. Patients should discuss any potential risks with the doctor before taking Tenovate-M Cream if they have glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes, psoriasis, liver problems, or problems with the adrenal gland.
Patients may experience severe side effects if patients take other medications with Tenovate M Cream. Keeping a record of all medicines sharing it with physicians and pharmacists will help patients stay safe. Any changes in the dosage of medication need to be discussed with the doctor.
Tenovate-M Cream should not be used if patients suffer from cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, psoriasis, and liver or adrenal gland problems. Neonatal and infants (under two years of age) must be protected from Tenovate-M Cream because of its potential for enhanced absorption through immature skin and toxicity in immature kidneys.
Keep dry and cool away from direct sunlight.

Aggrenox (dipyridamole, aspirin) is a blood thinner and vasodilator, most commonly prescribed to prevent stroke in patients who have a history of stroke or who are at high risk of having a stroke due to blood clots.
Aggrenox contains two active ingredients:
Both aspirin and dipyridamole are antiplatlet drugs, meaning they prevent blood clots from forming. Antiplatet medications are distinct from anticoagulant medications, such as the widely-recognized warfarin, which simply slow the formation of blood clots.
Aggrenox is a potent, potentially life-saving treatment, but as with any powerful medication it carries risk of serious complications if misused. Patients are strongly encouraged to follow doctor instructions carefully for the duration of treatment.
Stroke Prevention with Aggrenox
Aggrenox is administered via capsules, which only come in one strength; each capsule contains 25 mg aspirin and 200 mg dipyridamole. The dipyridamole is slowly released over the course of the day, so it's important to swallow the capsule whole. Crushing, dissolving, or otherwise damaging the capsule may cause the medication to release too quickly, which increases risk of side effects.
Treatment is usually similar for all patients:
Duration of treatment will vary according to individual circumstances. It is usually long-term, spanning years. Some patients will remain on Aggrenox or a similar medication for the remainder of life.
Important Considerations
This medication can cause very serious complications in some medical conditions, and it can interact with a wide range of other medications. Aggrenox should only be used under advice of a doctor, and regular checkups should be attended to monitor for developing complications.
Medical conditions of particular concern include:
Medications of concern include:
The above medical issues and medications do not necessarily mean Aggrenox can not be used, but they do put patients at higher risk of complications and patients should be aware of---and alert for---warning signs.
In otherwise healthy patients, the greatest concern with taking Aggrenox is its anti-clotting properties. Bleeding may occur easier and take much longer to clot; this has obvious drawbacks if wounded. Treatment with Aggrenox will need to stop prior to any type of surgery, during pregnancy, and any other scenario in which bleeding is likely. Activities in which injuries are likely---such as contact sports---should be avoided for the duration of treatment.
Fortunately when Aggrenox is used as directed serious side effects are rare. More common side effects, which aren't cause for concern unless severe, include nausea, diarrhea, mild headache, and heartburn. Some patients experience fatigue at the start of treatment. In most cases side effects will stop occurring after a few weeks of treatment.

Allylestrenol is a synthetic progestogen (called progestins) used in conception or pregnancy complications in women, when the complications result from low levels of naturally-occurring progesterone. It may also be used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia in men.
Though widely used throughout much of the world since its introduction in the 1960s, allylestrenol remains a controversial treatment with conflicting results from both clinical trials and real-world use. This is likely because the conditions it treats are very complicated and usually involve numerous factors, which can produce erratic results with no clear explanation for the inconsistencies.
Allylestrenol is typically prescribed to:
With regard to using allylestrenol to improve conception or prevent miscarriage, the most important thing to understand is that this medication is effective only when the complications result from low levels of progesterone. There are many other reasons that fertility may be impeded or spontaneous miscarriages occur. Laboratory tests are the only way to evaluate progesterone levels.
Allylestrenol for Conception
Progesterone is one of the most critical fertility and pregnancy hormones. During monthly cycles it prepares the uterus for the implantation of a fertilized egg; if fertilization does not occur, progesterone levels will drop---resulting in menstruation. If levels are too low implantation will not occur or the zygote will quickly be rejected.
If low progesterone levels are suspected in preventing pregnancy allylestrenol may provide benefit; it mimics the effects of progesterone, preparing the uterus for pregnancy.
Dosage will depend on the severity of the hormone deficiency, which can only be determined with laboratory tests. Dosage typically ranges from 10 to 40 mg per day, divided into two or three doses taken throughout the day. Treatment typically lasts for one week at a time, but again this can vary.
Allylestrenol during Pregnancy
Progesterone not only prepares the uterus for conception; it remains critical throughout pregnancy, inhibiting the immune system from rejecting the fetus, promotes nourishment, prevents further ovulation, and promotes growth of glands needed for milk production. If levels of the hormone are too low the uterus can become inhospitable to the fetus, resulting in miscarriage or premature labor.
Allylestrenol may be helpful if low progesterone is suspected as a cause of prior miscarriages or if low hormone levels are detected during pregnancy, causing concern for premature labor. Low progesterone is just one of many reasons miscarriages or premature labor may occur, however, and again it's critical that hormone levels be checked prior to beginning treatment---too much of the hormone can be every bit as harmful as too little.
Dosage during pregnancy should only be determined by a doctor; there are simply too many variables to generalize. Similar to use in conception, treatment often lasts for only a week at a time, though in some scenarios it may be longer.
Allylestrenol in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Benign prostatic hyperplasia simply refers to non-cancerous growth of the prostate, which can lead to difficulty urinating or completely emptying the bladder, which in turn can lead to more complications, such as bladder stones, urinary tract infections, and kidney damage.
Though a relatively new application for allylestrenol, it has proven beneficial in both clinical studies and real-world use for alleviating symptoms, preventing further growth, and reversing growth. Results do, of course, vary between individuals, and there are other medical factors that may also influence effectiveness.
For benign prostatic hyperplasia dosage is typically 50 mg per day, and treatment may continue for months at a time. Allylestrenol, like any hormone, is not without risks; regular doctor checkups are strongly encourage for the duration of treatment to ensure the medication is working as intended and no complications are developing.

Estrace (estradiol) is a female hormone used in a variety of conditions when the body is not producing enough estrogen, usually in menopausal women. The medication is also sometimes used to treat breast and prostate cancer in both genders.
The medication is administered by tablet, available in 1 mg or 2 mg doses. Food is optional but often utilized as it minimizes stomach-related side effects. Treatment typically involves taking a dose one to three times per day for several weeks or months.
Estrace is predominantly used to treat:
Note that all women who have an intact uterus, regardless of menopause, should not take estrogen supplements without also taking a progestin, another hormone that will help reduce risk of uterine cancer. Women who have had their uterus removed and men do not need to worry about taking a progestin.
Treating Menopause and Vaginal Atrophy
Most women are familiar with symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, irritability, and painful intercourse due to vaginal atrophy. Estrace can alleviate, or even completely eliminate, these symptoms. Treatment will be customized to some extent according to patient response, but in general consists of:
The need for HRT should be reassessed every three to six months; it is not meant to be indefinite. Most women will gradually adjust and no longer have symptoms of menopause even without HRT.
Treating Low Estrogen Levels from Other Causes
Low estrogen levels in pre-menopausal women are usually caused by removal of the ovaries, injury to the ovaries, genetic abnormalities, and other causes. Low estrogen causes many similar effects as menopause. Men who wish to develop female characteristics may also benefit from using Estrace.
Treatment here is usually the longest term, and can be quite variable. Most patients are started on:
Duration of treatment may last months or even years; it may stop at times only to be restarted later. Speak with a doctor who can take into account personal variables about the best course of treatment.
Preventing Osteoporosis
Estrogen supplements like Estrace are not the ideal treatment for osteoporosis, as they can cause problems just as severe. Non-estrogen medications, such as raloxifene, are preferred. However, when these other medications are not suitable, Estrace may be used instead in women who are at high risk of osteoporosis.
There are no official guidelines regarding dosage and duration of treatment in using Estrace for this purpose. Speak with a doctor.
Palliative Cancer Care
Estrace may be used as a palliative treatment in certain cancer scenarios. Keep in mind that many cancers feed off of estrogen and Estrace should not be used without explicit doctor approval.
Use of estrogen to treat even estrogen-positive cancer was fairly normal until the 1970s, at which time it was discovered that other medications---such as tamoxifen---did so much more effectively. However, some patients develop resistance to these medications, with the cancer responding poorly. It has since been discovered that among those no longer responding to non-estrogen medications, administering estrogen can help significantly. By the time the cancer is no longer responding well to estrogen, other medications may once again be beneficial.
Cancer is a complex subject and treatment will be individualized. Starting guidelines are:
Doctor instructions may deviate from the above and should always be followed closely when using Estrace to combat cancer.

PRECAUTIONS: Do not take if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or to any of the product's excipients. Not to be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is advised that while taking Venotrex any other measures prescribed by a doctor, such as the application of compresses to the legs, wearing of compression stockings, or cold water applications, should be adhered to under all circumstances. If unusual and intensive complaints appear suddenly, particularly in only one leg, characterised by abnormal swelling, discolouration of the skin, sensation of tension or heat and pain, it is recommended to consult a doctor immediately. Users may experience vertigo, gastrointestinal complaints or allergic reactions (like itching). Do not take Venotrex if you have hypersensitivity to horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) or to any of the excipients. Venotrex should not be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
