Zydena

The oral medication Zydena is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It belongs to the pyrazolopyrimidine class of drugs. It is a selective inhibitor of (cGMP)-specific phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) in the corpus cavernosum.

As Zydena potentiates the hypotensive effects of chronic and acute nitrates, its coadministration with even an intermittent dose of nitric oxide donors, organic nitrates, or organic nitrates is contraindicated.

For men with cardiovascular risk factors, Zydena is contraindicated. The use of Zydena should be considered with caution for men with undiagnosed cardiovascular disorders.

Zydena Interactions

Taking Zydena Tablets with other drugs or over-the-counter medications may cause its effects to be changed. This might increase a patient's risk for side effects or stop the medicine from working effectively.

• Alpha-blockers

Other interactions include anticonvulsants, organic nitrates/nitrites, ketoconazole, Nitric oxide itraconazole, indinavir, ritonavir cimetidine, erythromycin, grapefruit juice, rifampin, Dexamethasone, amlodipine besylate, Nitroglycerin, α-blockers, and omeprazole.

Precautions

Zydena side-effects may be more problematic if patients have some health conditions. If the patient or doctor prescribes this medication or the product insert specifies it, follow those instructions. Patients must inform their doctor if symptoms worsen or persist. The following points are essential to consider:
