Nasacort is a popular medicine known to effectively relieve pain from nasal itchiness, sneezing, and nasal congestion. A variety of air particles trigger the nasal inflammation. Moreover, the severity of inflammation varies from one person to another. Luckily, with the active ingredient triamcinolone acetonide in a water-based metered-dose pump spray, Nasacort has the right formulation to stop the pain and irritation from occurring.
When experiencing nasal inflammation, consult your physician and ask the details when to take Nasacort nasal spray. This medication should not produce any life threatening effects or symptoms aside from mild side effects such as lightheadedness, headache and throat irritation. Clear you nasal passage first by gently blowing your nose so that the active ingredient could work directly on the nasal tissue. After you have successfully done this, shake the drug’s container before spraying it. If you are using Nasacort for the first time, prime the pump by spraying the drug into the air until you see a fine mist come out. Remove the inhaler’s protective cap but be sure to keep it so that dust particles would not enter the inhaler after using. When spraying, be sure that the drug’s inhaler rests between your forefinger and your thumb. Slightly tilt your head back, point the tip into one nostril and then carefully insert the inhaler. Your other nostril must be closed by holding it with your finger. Next, release the spray by pressing down on the container and gently inhale it. Gently sniffing and holding your breath for a few seconds are vital at this point so that the drug could enter your nasal passage. Afterwards, you must slowly exhale through your mouth after inhaling the drug. Repeat the steps for the other nostril but be sure to never “double” spray the product. Once finished, replace the protective cap of the inhaler.

Be mindful of the number of times you have used Nasacort nasal spray. Stick to the labeled number of times indicated in the inhaler. Discard the drug after reaching the maximum number of usage even if the bottle has not yet been emptied. This is for the reason that the amount of triamcinolone acetonide delivered per actuation may not be consistent anymore. And in order to get proper results, take Nasacort on a regular basis as prescribed by your physician. In case you missed a dosage, take one as soon as possible so as not to interrupt the treatment. Getting back to your regular dosing schedule is a must.

The drug should not be used to children below two years of age. Children two years and above could use the medication as long as there is adult supervision. After three weeks of treatment and you have not experienced adequate relief of symptoms, discontinue the use of the product. Store Nasacort nasal spray at a controlled room temperature --- from 20 to 25°C or 68 to 77°F. And keep the medicine out of reach of children to prevent any untoward incident.
